JULY 14TH, 2011 • BY MATT MOLNAR
The wingtip of a Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-300ER (N185DN) clipped the tail of a Delta Connection/Atlantic Southeast Bombardier CRJ-900 (N132EV) at Boston Logan International Airport on Thursday night.
One passenger complained of neck pain following the accident but there were no other injuries, according to a CBS report. Both planes suffered damage.
Delta’s larger jet, operating as flight 266 to Amsterdam, had 204 passengers and 11 crew on board as it taxied for departure. The smaller plane, Delta flight 4904 to Raleigh-Durham, carried 74 passengers and three crew.
Both flights were canceled and the planes were taken out of service for inspection and repairs.
In April 2011, a Delta Connection jet operated by Comair was hit by an Air France Airbus A380 at JFK Airport. No one was injured in that incident.
